Check people in at the door

Look someone up by name or email and mark them as arrived.

Who can do thisowneradmincheckin

The Check-in page is built for a queue: one search box, big buttons, and live numbers. It is what your door staff should have open.

Steps

  1. Open Check-in.

  2. Type a name or email into Search name or email.
  3. Click the right person.
  4. Check them in.

Most people arrive with a QR code, which is faster — see Scan QR codes at the door.

Before the doors open

Ten minutes of preparation saves an hour of queue:

Search by email, not name. Names are spelled inconsistently, transliterated differently, and arrive with and without middle names. Email is exact, and most people can recite theirs.

What happens next

They are marked as arrived immediately, and the live numbers update on every device that has the page open.

If you print badges on arrival, use the print kiosk instead — it can check in and print in one scan.

Common problems

They are not in the list. Search by email. Then clear the search and check they registered for *this* event — people with several of your events confuse the two. If they genuinely never registered, add them on the spot.

A message appears instead of checking them in. That is intentional. See What the check-in messages mean.

The page is slow or will not load at the venue. Venue wifi. Switch the device to a mobile hotspot.

Two staff checked in the same person. Harmless — the second is recorded as already checked in.

You cannot see the Check-in page. Owner, admin and check-in staff only. Finance and viewer cannot check anyone in.
