Watch live check-in numbers
Read the four live tiles on the Check-in page and know what each one is telling you.
Four tiles sit at the top of the Check-in page and refresh on their own every fifteen seconds.

What each tile means
In now — how many people are currently inside: checked in, minus anyone checked out. This is your live occupancy, and the number a venue safety officer will ask for.
Checked in — how many have arrived at all today. It never goes down when someone leaves.
Checked out — how many have been scanned out.
Total — how many are registered. Your denominator.
Checked in against Total is your turnout rate. Watching it through the morning tells you whether the rush has passed or is still coming.
Using them on the day
Registration desk staffing. If checked-in is climbing fast, keep every lane open. When it flattens, you can release staff.
Room capacity. In now is the number that matters for fire regulations, not Checked in.
Catering. Take a reading about an hour before service. Real attendance is what caterers need, and it is usually well below registrations.
Session timing. If only 40% are in ten minutes before the keynote, holding the start five minutes is a better call than starting to a half-empty room.
Note the check-in count at the same clock time each year. It is the most useful planning figure you have, and nobody remembers to write it down.
What happens next
Every device with the page open shows the same figures, so a second desk or an office screen stays in sync without anyone refreshing.
For times rather than totals, use the Check-in / check-out report in Reports.
Common problems
"In now" is higher than the number of people you can see. Most people never scan out. In-now only falls if you actively check people out, so unless you run an out lane, treat it as equal to checked-in.
Total is higher than you expected. It counts registrants, including Pending and Waitlisted. Filter the attendee list by Confirmed for the number you probably mean.
Numbers are not moving. The device has lost its connection, or nobody is actually scanning. Reload before assuming the desk has stopped.
Checked in is higher than Total. Duplicate attendee records, both scanned. See Find and merge duplicate attendees.
