Take your event from draft to published

What Draft and Published actually change, and what to check before you flip it.

Who can do thisowneradmin

Every event is either Draft or Published. It is one setting, and it controls whether the public can use your event site.

What each one means

Draft — you are still building. Use this for everything up to the moment you want registrations.

Published — your event site is open for business at your-event-slug.evenclo.com, and people can register.

Steps

  1. On Your events, click Edit on the event.
  2. Set Status to Published.
Event edit panel with the status dropdown open showing Draft and Published
Event edit panel with the status dropdown open showing Draft and Published
  3. Click Save changes.

Check these first

Publishing is instant, so run through this before you flip it:

That last one catches more problems than the rest combined. Register yourself with a real email address, pay if it is a paid ticket, and read the email that arrives.

Going back to draft

You can set it back to Draft at any time. This closes the public site to new registrations.

Going back to draft does not delete or cancel anyone who already registered, and it does not refund anyone. It only stops new registrations. Your existing attendees stay exactly as they are, and check-in keeps working.

Common problems

Published, but the page still looks unfinished. Status controls access, not content. Everything visible on the page comes from the Page editor.

People say they cannot register. Check status is Published, then check the ticket type's own sales start and end dates — a ticket outside its sales window will not sell on a published event.

You want the site visible but registration closed. Leave the event Published and close the tickets instead, by disabling them or letting their sales window end. That keeps your programme and venue information readable.
