The new field opens in the settings panel. Give it a Label — this is what the registrant reads.Field settings panel with label, placeholder, helper text and required toggle
Set Required if they must answer.
Drag the field up or down the list to position it.
Save.
Everything else — options, validation, which step it lives on, which attendee types see it — is covered in Edit a question.
Before you add anything
Two rules save most of the pain later:
Ask only what you will use. Every extra question loses you registrations. If nobody will read the answer, do not ask it.
Ask it before you publish. There is no clean way to go back and ask early registrants a question you added later — they are already through. If you must, email them and record the answers by hand.
Full name and Email are already collected. You do not need to add them, and adding a second Full name field is refused.
What happens next
The field appears on your public registration form as soon as you save. Check it with the preview before you rely on it — see Preview and publish your form.
Common problems
"This form already has a Full name field." Name is built in. Use the existing one.
The field is not on the public form. Either you did not save, or it is assigned to a step or an attendee type you are not testing as. Check both in Edit a question.
You want to group questions under a title. Add a Section heading field. It displays a heading and collects nothing.
You want to carry a value through without asking. Use a Hidden field.
You cannot open the Form builder. Owner and admin only.
