Connect a payment method

Add a card gateway or bank transfer, test the connection, and switch it live.

Who can do thisowneradmin

Until a payment method is connected and enabled, a paid ticket cannot be bought.

Steps

  1. Open Tickets and go to Payment methods.
  2. Add a method and choose a Provider from the list.
Payment methods tab with the provider picker and credential fields
Payment methods tab with the provider picker and credential fields
  3. Set Mode to Test or Live.
  4. Give it a Label (optional) — what registrants see at checkout. "Pay by card" is clearer than the provider's brand name.
  5. Enter the credentials from your provider account.
  6. Save, then Test the connection.
  7. Enable it for this event.

Test mode first

Set up in Test mode, register yourself, and pay with your provider's test card. Then switch to Live and do it once more with a real card for a small amount, and refund yourself.

The second test is the one that matters. Test mode confirms the wiring; only a live transaction confirms the account is actually able to receive money.

Bank transfer

Bank transfer is a manual method. The registrant gets your bank details, pays outside evenclo, and uploads a receipt. You then accept or reject it by hand.

Their place is held but not confirmed until you accept. Someone has to check these daily — an unattended transfer queue is registrations quietly not happening.

Credentials

Your provider credentials are stored encrypted and are shown masked afterwards. evenclo never displays them back in full.

Treat these like a password. Anyone with them can take money in your name. Do not paste them into chat, email or a shared document, and rotate them at your provider if they ever leak.

What happens next

Enabled methods appear at checkout. Enable more than one and registrants choose.

Money goes directly to your provider account on your provider's own schedule. evenclo records the order; it does not hold your funds.

Common problems

"Test connection" fails. Credentials are wrong, or copied from the wrong mode — test keys do not work in live and vice versa. Re-copy both, watching for trailing spaces.

Checkout shows no payment option. The method is saved but not enabled for this event, or every ticket is free.

Test payments work and live ones fail. Your provider account is not fully activated. That is on their side — check your provider dashboard for outstanding verification.

Someone paid but is still Pending. The confirmation from the gateway has not landed. Check Reconciliation, and see Reconcile your paid orders.

You need to change provider mid-event. Add the new one, test it, enable it, then disable the old one. Do not delete the old method — you need it to refund the orders it took.
