Delete an event

How to delete an event, what goes with it, and why you almost always want to set it to draft instead.

Read this before you delete anything

Deleting an event takes its registrations, orders, badge templates, sessions, exhibitors and reports with it. There is no undo and no archive to recover from.

Almost every reason people reach for delete is better served another way:

Export anything you might need first. Reports exports every report as CSV, and Attendees exports your registrant list with the current filters applied. Do that before you delete, not after.

Steps

  1. Go to Your events.
  2. Click Edit on the event you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete event.
Event edit panel with the Delete event button
Event edit panel with the Delete event button
  4. Confirm.

What happens next

The event disappears from Your events immediately, along with its data.

Its public address stops working. Anyone following an old link, or scanning a printed QR code from that event, gets nothing.

The slug does not necessarily come free for reuse — if you are deleting in order to recreate the event under the same address, contact support first rather than assuming you can claim it back.

Common problems

There is no Delete event button. Only owners and admins can delete an event.

You deleted the wrong event. Contact support immediately and do not keep working. The sooner you ask, the better the chance anything can be done — but treat recovery as unlikely, not expected.

You want to reuse the event for next year. Do not delete and rebuild. Create a new event for next year and keep this one for its history. Two events never share data, so last year's event sitting there affects nothing.
