Changes appear in the preview as you type. They are not public until you publish.

Writing for a section

Sections give you a fixed set of fields, which is a feature: you cannot make a mess of the layout, so all your attention goes on the words.

Images

Fields that take an image let you upload one or paste a URL — see Add images to a section.

Style and advanced

Style controls spacing, this section's colours, and entrance animations — see Style a section.

Advanced is for custom HTML, CSS and JS. Rarely needed — see Custom HTML, CSS and JS.

What happens next

The section is saved to your draft. Check it on Mobile in the device switcher before publishing; most of your visitors are on a phone.

Common problems

The section is not in the preview. It may be hidden, or positioned below where you are looking. Check the section list.

Text overflows on mobile. Your heading is too long. Section layouts adapt, but a fifteen-word heading will not fit a phone at display size.

A field you expected is missing. Each section type has its own fixed fields. If the type cannot express what you need, a different type usually can.

Your changes vanished. You switched page without them saving. Give it a moment after typing before switching.

You want two sections side by side. Not supported — sections stack vertically. Use a section type with a built-in multi-column layout, like Workshops or Stats.
