Reorder, duplicate, hide and delete sections

Reorder

Drag a section up or down the section list. The preview follows immediately.

Order is the highest-leverage thing on a page. Moving speakers above the agenda, or a registration button higher up, changes how many people register far more than rewording anything.

Duplicate

Duplicating copies the section with all its content and styling.

Useful for a second band of testimonials, a repeated call to action further down, or as a safe way to experiment: duplicate, change the copy, hide the original, compare.

Hide and show

Hiding takes a section off the public site but keeps it, with all its content, in the editor.

This is almost always better than deleting:

• A countdown that should only appear in the final month.
• A sponsors block waiting on one more logo.
• Last year's gallery, until this year's photographs exist.
• Anything you are unsure about — hide it and decide later.

Delete

Permanent. Use it only for something you are certain you will never want back. Hiding costs nothing.

What happens next

All of these change your draft. Nothing is public until you publish.

If you delete something by mistake, revision history may be able to bring it back — but hiding avoids needing to find out.

Common problems

Dragging will not drop where you want. Move it in smaller steps rather than one long drag across the whole list.

A hidden section still shows on the live site. You have not published since hiding it.

A duplicate changed when you edited the original. It should not — duplicates are independent copies. If content really is shared, you edited the same section twice; check the section list for which one is selected.

You deleted the wrong section. Try revision history before rebuilding.

The navbar or footer will not move. They are anchored to the top and bottom by design.
