Create a page

Steps

1. Open Page editor and add a new page.
2. Give it a Page title and a Slug (URL path).

   

3. Pick what to Start from — a preset gives you a sensible stack of sections rather than a blank page.
4. Create page.

The page appears as a tab across the top. Build it with sections.

Slugs

The slug is the address: a slug of agenda gives you your-event-slug.evenclo.com/agenda.

Keep them short, lowercase and hyphenated. venue, not Venue-Information-And-Directions.

How many pages

Fewer than you think. A single well-ordered homepage that ends in a registration form outperforms a five-page site almost every time — every extra click loses people.

Add a page when the homepage genuinely gets too long, or when something needs its own address to link to directly.

Pages that usually earn their place:

• Agenda — when the programme is large enough to overwhelm the homepage.
• Speakers — same reasoning.
• Venue — travel, parking, hotels. Handy to link to on its own.
• Register — when you want a clean address to put on print.

Deleting a page

Delete this page removes it. The homepage cannot be deleted.

Check nothing links to it first — your navbar, other sections, printed material.

What happens next

New pages are in your draft until you publish. Add them to the navbar so people can find them; a page with no link is reachable only by typing the address.

Common problems

The page is live but not in the navigation. Navigation is a section. Add the link to your navbar.

A slug is rejected. Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, and it must be unique within your site.

You cannot delete the homepage. By design. Edit it instead.

A new page looks empty. You started from a blank preset. Add sections.

Two pages have similar content. Merge them. Fewer, stronger pages beat more, thinner ones.
