Put a survey on a public page

Add a Survey section to a page so visitors can answer without an email link, and know when that works.

A survey can live on one of your public pages, so people answer it from a link you print on a sign, put on a screen, or share on social.

Add the section

Open the Page editor, choose the page, and add a Survey section. Pick which survey it shows from the dropdown — every survey on the event is listed, with its status in brackets.

Add a heading above it if the page needs one. Everything else — the questions, whether it is open, what the thank-you message says — is set on the Surveys page, and the section follows it. Change the survey and the page changes with it; there is no second copy to keep in sync.

This only works for anonymous surveys

A survey that records who answered needs each attendee's own personal link, and a link like that cannot be embedded in a page — anyone who opened the page would answer as whoever the link belonged to. Send those by email or WhatsApp instead.

An anonymous survey has nothing to identify, so a shared link is exactly right. Turn Anonymous on for the survey before you embed it.

Good uses for it

A QR code on the way out. Put the survey on its own page, print the page's URL as a QR code, and put it on the exit doors and the back of every seat. Feedback while people are still in the room is more honest and far more plentiful than feedback three days later.

A screen in the venue. Same page, open on a tablet at the registration desk.

Session feedback. One survey per day, embedded on the programme page.

Publish it

The section is live once you publish the page, and only accepts answers while the survey's status is Open. Before that, visitors see a short "this survey is not open yet" message rather than a broken box — so you can build and publish the page in advance and open the survey on the day.

Common problems

The section is empty on the live page — no survey was chosen in the dropdown. A section with nothing selected renders nothing at all, deliberately, rather than an empty box.

It says the survey is not open — its status is still Draft, or its Closes date has passed. Both are set on the Surveys page.

Answers are not appearing — check that the survey is Anonymous. A named survey will refuse an answer that arrives without a personal link, which is every answer from an embedded page.
