Set a page's title, description and share image

Control how your event looks in search results and when someone shares the link.

Who can do thisowneradmin

These settings decide two things you cannot control any other way: how your event appears in a search result, and what shows up when someone pastes your link into WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Slack.

The second one matters more than most organisers expect. Every share is free promotion, and a share with no image is a share nobody clicks.

Steps

  1. Open Page editor, select the page, and open its page settings.
  2. Set the SEO fields.

  3. Save page settings.

Meta title

What appears as the clickable line in a search result. Aim for about 60 characters.

Put the event name and the useful qualifier first: Nova Summit 2026 — Cairo, 14–16 May. Front-load it, because the end gets cut off.

Meta description

The grey text under the title in a search result, and often the preview text in a shared link. Around 150 characters.

Say what it is and give a reason to click: Three days, forty speakers, one hall. Egypt's largest product conference returns to Cairo in May. Early-bird tickets now open.

Write one per page. The same description on every page is a wasted opportunity and looks automated.

OG image

The picture shown when your link is shared. Nothing matters more for how a shared link performs.

Set the OG image before you announce anything. The first share is usually your biggest, and platforms cache these images — fixing it afterwards often does not update links already posted.

What happens next

These apply once you publish.

Search engines take days to weeks to reflect changes. Sharing platforms cache aggressively; a link already shared may keep showing the old image for some time.

Common problems

A shared link shows no image. No OG image set, or it is too small. Publish, then re-test with a fresh link.

It shows the old image after you changed it. Platform caching. It clears eventually; there is nothing to fix on your side.

Your title is cut off in Google. Too long. Front-load the important words.

Google shows different text than your description. Search engines sometimes substitute page content they consider more relevant. Nothing to fix.

Your event does not appear in search at all. New sites take time to be indexed, and your event status must be Published — see Take your event from draft to published.
